Jaycee awarded for her work

Chamene Plum, a local Jaycee member and national vice president of the organization, was given the Don Cavelli Memorial Award, which is a yearly award given to one Jaycee vice president for outstanding work.

Plum was given the award at the United States Jaycees National Convention in Baltimore June 28.

A press release from the organization says that Plum joined the Havre chapter of the Jaycees in 1999 when she was looking for something to do in Havre.

“Playing an active part in her community has enriched her life and those around her,” the press release says.

Plum became Montana’s 72nd State President of the Jaycees in 2010 before she was elected as national vice president of the chapters in several states in 2013.

Plum and her husband, Cliff, reside in Havre, where she is works at her family’s business, Griggs Printing.
