Kellen ride will bring cyclists to park

Ride begins Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

The 5th Annual Kellen Memorial Bike Ride will bring bicyclists to Pepin Park Saturday.

The ride begins at 10:30 a.m. at the park and registration to ride is at 9 a.m. or on their website at http://www.kellenmemorialride.org.

Along with the ride, activities will include a cone bicycle race and a slowest bicycle race.

The ride is named after a young Havre resident who was killed when he was hit by a truck as he crossed the viaduct while walking his bicycle.

Twelve bicycles will be given away at the event and a custom-painted electric guitar will be raffled off.

The proceeds from a guitar raffle will go toward scholarships for music lessons for children. Last year, three children were awarded the scholarship.

To apply for the scholarship, a parent or student can pick an application up at the student's school office at the beginning of the school year.

Registration is free. There will also be a free barbecue after the event.
