North Stars drop two games to Vauxhall Spurs

It was a tough start to the Havre North Stars most important road trip of the season. On Tuesday, in Vauxhall, Alberta, the North Stars were swept in an American Legion Northern A doubleheader.

Havre fell twice to the Vauxhall Spurs, taking the North Stars’ conference record to 8-14 heading into their final two games of the regular season today in Medicine Hat.

Havre lost the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader to Vauxhall 8-3. Jeff Miller took the loss for the North Stars on the mound. In the second outing, Havre lost a heartbreaker, 9-8 to the host Spurs. Dylan Carpenter started the game for the North Stars, while Tyrell Pierce came on in relief and suffered the loss. For the season, Havre went 1-3 against the Spurs.

The North Stars will finish out conference play today when they take on the league-leading Medicine Hat Hats in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The first game is set for 1 p.m. Havre finishes its schedule with a pair of non-league games against the Glacier Twins Friday and Saturday in Whitefish.
