Charlie was born on May 21, 1924, at the family homestead in Illiad, Montana, to Chas and Marie (Kolar) Tordik. His mother died in childbirth, and his father raised him on the family homestead. He attended schools in Big Sandy and helped his father out on the farm. Following high school, Charlie continued to farm and ranch the family homestead until he married Dorothy (Edwards) Runnion in 1979. The couple remained on the family farm until Dorothy's health deteriorated to the point where she was moved to Great Falls for around-the-clock nursing care.  Charlie remained on the farm until he, too, needed more care, so he moved into the Care Center in 2009.

Charlie was a kind, gentlemanly man most of the time, who, in his younger years was a great dancer and all of his life was a flirtatious scamp. He adored his wife Dorothy and his beloved companion Poppy, and shared with both his great love for the land and the creatures in it, both domesticated and wild.

Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy in 2013; his faithful companion, Poppy; and his parents, Chas and Marie Tordik.

He is survived by his beloved friends and extended family.
