Saturday Market kicks off for first time this year

The weekly Saturday Market had its first date Saturday and brought back vendors of food and goods.

Hutterite colonies brought back their wares of produce and vendors were selling jewelry, weapons, crafts and other goods.

Gary and Kathy Glock were selling knives at the market and said last year was their first year there, and they will be there every week this year. However, they have been selling knives at fairs for around 10 years and taking their booth to different shows around the area.

Kathy said they "do OK" at the Saturday Market in terms of sales.

Saddle Butte Custom Smoking had their food truck running at the first market of the year, selling barbecued pork on a stick.

The first market of the summer brought fewer booths and tables compared to the end of last season, but still offered attendees the chance to shop locally.
