Thomas Edward Bernard

Thomas Edward Bernard, 24, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, at Brown’s Reservoir in Rocky Boy.  Wake services began at 5 p.m., on Sunday, July 6, 2014, and will continue until his Mass, which will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, all at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rocky Boy, with Father Pete Guthneck officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bernard Family Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Please visit Thomas’ online memorial page and leave a message of condolence for his family at http://www.hollandbonine.com.

Thomas was born on Dec. 16, 1989, in Fort Belknap to Larry Bernard and Francine Stiffarm. He was raised in Rocky Boy by his beloved grandmother Rose Bernard and father Larry Bernard, attending school there. Following his school years, he worked several different jobs. Thomas enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends. He was a very social man who loved all kids, but absolutely adored his children and nieces and nephews. Thomas was quiet until he got to know you, and then his fun-loving, jokester nature came out. He loved playing basketball, football and video games, his favorite being Black Ops 2. And he was an avid LA Lakers fan.

  Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Cheyenne Rose Bernard; his grandmothers, Rose Bernard and Viola Matt; and his grandfather, Tom Bernard Sr.

  He is survived by his children, Lucas Bernard and Kalea Walking Child, both of Rocky Boy; his parents, Larry Joseph Bernard of Rocky Boy and Francine Stiffarm of Harlem;  his sisters, Renea Rock of Tucson, Arizona, Billy Jo Favel of Spokane, Washington, Carol Ann Bernard of Missoula, and Sarah Stiffarm of Hawaii; his brothers, Joe Bernard, Albert Bernard and Loren Bernard of Rocky Boy, Elliott Bernard and Elias Bernard of Billings, and Milo, Tony, and Moon Stiffarm, Mike Jackson, Isaiah Morsette and Robert “Big Cheeks” Big Bow all of Rocky Boy; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
