Community Events Calendar

Wednesday, Nov. 26

Story Time is at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Tunes at Noon in the lower level of the Atrium Mall will feature live music presented by Mary Stevens.

Havre Community Pool will have recreation swim time from 1 to 4 p.m. People can swim three hours for $2. For more information, call 265-8161.

Havre Ice Dome Open Skate is set for 5:45 to 7 p.m. Cost is $4, and rentals are available for $4.

Thursday, Nov. 27

Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Jude Parish Center. As always, this meal is free and the public is welcome.

North Central Montana Transit buses, including the Great Falls route, will not be running this day inobservance of the holiday

The Havre Community Pool will be closed for the holiday. For further information, call 265-5781.

Friday, Nov. 28

Chinook Christmas celebration will be 1 to 7 p.m., with the downtown stroll starting at 1 p.m., the Festival of Trees available for viewing and bidding at First Bank of Montana until 5:45 p.m. and Parade of Lights starting at 6 p.m.

Havre's Festival of Trees tickets will be sold through 5 p.m. this day at Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line, 500 1st Ave., 265-6206. This event is a fundraiser for the club.

Saturday, Nov. 29

The Holiday Spirit Stroll through Havre Beneath the Streets will be 3 to 5 p.m. Tickets, available at 120 3rd Ave., are $5 for adults, $3 for kids age 6-12, and free for kids younger than 6, for self-guided tours of the displays decorated by TOPS MT group 0480.

The Railroad Museum will have special train runs with the Pacific Junction Railroad Club trains in the basement of the museum, 3 to 5 p.m.

The inaugural Santa Run/Walk will start at Town Square with registration at 4 p.m. and the run/walk at 4:30 p.m. Men and women dressed as Santa will run or walk a one-mile course that begins and ends at the Square. Youth can dress as elves. Prizes will be awarded to fastest times and best costumes. For more information, call the Chamber of Commerce at 265-4383.

The tree lighting ceremony, with the arrival of Santa, holiday caroling, prize giveaways and other activities will take place on starting at 5:30 p.m. at Town Square. Vendors will be selling refreshments, food and holiday items. For more information, call the Chamber of Commerce at 265-4383.

I would LOVE to see our community list more events in this section. So many times you hear from a friend that went to some event or fundraiser that you didn't even hear about. Would love to see any little thing going on in Havre to be posted here.

HPS Education Foundation hosting the annual HOLIDAY HOOPS Blue Pony alumni basketball games on Friday December 27th at the Havre Middle School. First game at 6:30pm. Players contact Tony at 390-6178 or Grayson at Master Sports. Fun for the whole family!
