Wednesday, Aug. 27

Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force of the Health Consortium will meet noon to 1 p.m. at the Hill County Health Department conference room. The goals are to engage teen and community partners in developing the means to reduce teen pregnancies and the negative impacts from teen pregnancies. The public is invited to provide input on the work plan and help create a task force that fully represents the community. For more information, contact Jessica Kennedy at 265-5481, ext. 269.

Books and Babies is at 10:15 a.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. This event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Story Time is at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Tunes at Noon in the lower level of the Atrium Mall will feature live music presented by Mary Stevens.

Dancing at the North Central Senior Center at 2 2nd St. W. begins at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 30

Saturday Market is set for 8 a.m. to noon in Town Square, with vendors selling food, produce, craft, arts and more.

Storytime during Saturday Market, sponsored by Havre-Hill County Library, will be held in Town Square from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Books will be read aloud to children accompanied by an adult, with a new book starting every 15 minutes. This is a free event.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

The Hi-Line Quilt Guild meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Holiday Village Mall Community Center at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 4

Friends of the Havre-Hill County Library will meet at noon at the library meeting room. The annual Festival Days Used Book Sale is on the agenda. For more information, call 265-2123.

12th Annual Atlatl Competition at Wahkpa Chu'gn Buffalo Jump, behind Holiday Village Mall, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No entry fee or pre-registration is required, but $500 in prizes and gifts will be awarded in five divisions: youth, under 5; junior, 6-12; teens, 13-19; adult women, 20 and older; and adult men, 20 and older. International Atlatl Association members will be on hand to share their atlatls and give free lessons.

The North Central Hangar of the Montana Pilots Association will hold its monthly meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. in the terminal at the Havre City-County Airport.

Friends of Beaver Creek Park monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church.

Recycle Drive and E-Waste Collection will be accepting recyclable paper-based, metal, glass, plastic and electronic products from 8 a.m. to noon at Pacific Steel and Recycling the third Saturday of every month. I would LOVE to see our community list more events in this section. So many times you hear from a friend that went to some event or fundraiser that you didn't even hear about. Would love to see any little thing going on in Havre to be posted here.

HPS Education Foundation hosting the annual HOLIDAY HOOPS Blue Pony alumni basketball games on Friday December 27th at the Havre Middle School. First game at 6:30pm. Players contact Tony at 390-6178 or Grayson at Master Sports. Fun for the whole family!
