Evelyn Eagleman

Evelyn Eagleman, 66, of Rocky Boy passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her residence of natural causes. Wake services began Friday evening, June 20, 2014, and continued until her funeral service, which was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at her residence, 112 Thimbleberry Road. Burial was in the Eagleman Family Cemetery.

Evelyn was born on Feb. 23, 1948, in Fort Belknap to George and Queen (Indian) Anderson. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending the Parker School, Day School, and Rocky Boy Junior High, before attending Havre High School. Following her school years, she attended Dull Knife College for a year before marrying her beloved husband, Francis Eagleman, Sr., on Oct. 30, 1970, at Rocky Boy Lutheran Church.The couple's union was blessed with seven children, and they remained in Rocky Boy, raising the children there.

Evelyn was an active woman, working with children for most of her career. She worked as a bilingual teacher's assistant in the Rocky Boy Schools, as a certified child development center counselor, a resident service counselor, and in child care as a cook and a provider. Evelyn enjoyed working with her hands, and her hobbies included arts and crafts, and beading. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Queen Indian and George Anderson; her infant son; her grandson, Arron Olson; and her brothers, Keith Anderson, Ervin Anderson, and Ronald Anderson.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Francis Eagleman Sr., of Rocky Boy; her daughters, Francine (William) The Boy and Theola (Brandon) Lamere, all of Rocky Boy; her sons, Christian Eagleman, Francis "Ira" Eagleman Jr., Tyson (Hilary) Eagleman, all of Rocky Boy, and Tyler (Marissa) Eagleman of Havre; her 18 grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Valerie (Bruce) Sunchild, Vernice Anderson, Barbara (Jeff) Eagleman, Tanya (William) Ahenakew and Karen Anderson, all of Rocky Boy; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
