Alcohol believed to be a factor in fatal crash

Janika Louise Doney, 19, of Fort Belknap was killed in a motor vehicle accident Saturday.

A report from Fort Belknap law enforcement said the vehicle was traveling south on SR 66 at mile marker 30.9, when it entered the west shoulder. The vehicle continued to travel south on the shoulder until it drove through the oncoming approach and became airborne, the report says.

“All occupants of the vehicle were ejected,” the release says. “Seatbelts were a factor and alcohol is believed to be a factor.”

Doney was a college student who lived in Harlem.
