Laurel — There are a lot of reasons to be proud of the state champion Box Elder Bears boys basketball team. But people ought to be especially proud of the work they did this week at a community meeting on drug abuse. Bears players spoke to the group about the importance of staying drug free. Team members once again proved themselves to be great role models for Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation and the rest of the Hi-Line.

Laurel — Small-town living at its best will be celebrated this weekend at the Montana Seed Show. Harlem’s population will nearly double as people flock to the Blaine County community for the festivities. Check out the schedule in Wednesday’s Havre Daily News, find something that interests you and head out to Harlem.

Dart — Rocky Boy’s tribal government was less than forthcoming in informing the public about its decision to suspend the manager of Northern Winz Casino. Spokesman Larry Denny would not even confirm the manager’s name. He would offer no clue about what the investigation was about. The patrons of the casino and the people of Rocky Boy deserve more.

Laurel — Getting kids to read books at a young age is vital to their development. Plant a Seed, Read is a local program aimed at getting books into the hands of young people. It has been a big success so far. Saturday morning, the program will have a breakfast aimed at spreading the good word and hopefully raising a little money for the effort. Dr. Seuss will be there to greet children.

And a dart to you HDN for wrongly naming the Tribal Chairman as the Rocky Boy coach who was suspended and never issuing an apology when the proper individual was identified....The Rocky Boy people deserve better. But that is expected from the HDN agitators....

come on DART you know if you would just stroke the Ego and apologize then all would be well!!!!!
