Lynne (Patton) Vosen passed away with cancer at her home on March 3, 2014. Born in Spokane, she was the middle daughter of Nancy and James Patton, attending Grant Elementary and graduating from Lewis and Clark High School in 1961. Lynne graduated with a B.A. in music from the University of Idaho in 1965. That same year she was united in marriage with Harold C. Vosen, a family friend.

From there they moved to Havre and finally Miles City, Mont., where their children graduated from high school and attended colleges in Minnesota. Upon her husband's retirement from the BLM in 2001, they made their home outside Heron, Mont., in the woods and mountains she loved.

Lynne was an accomplished violinist and taught many students over the years.  She recently became active in Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity.  She is a charter member of the Miles City Community Orchestra and was Pend d'Oreile Orchestra's concertmistress.  Throughout her life, Lynne was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church, serving as Sunday school teacher, education superintendent, and a leader of youth group, women's ministry, and music ministry wherever she lived. She will be missed by the many community organizations where she gave of her presence, gifts and service.

She is survived by her husband, Hal Vosen; children, Christina (Mark) Ostendorf, David (Elyse) Vosen and Victor Vosen; five grandchildren; her sisters, Rae Belle (Roger) Gambs and Kendal (Miguel) Ferrera; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 8, at the Heron UMC in Montana at 4 p.m.  Interment in the family plot in July and a May memorial in Miles City are pending.  Memorials may be made to the Heron UMC, Friends of Cathy, NAMI Far North or Friends of Scotchman Peaks.
