Donovan was born on Dec. 10, 1971, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, to Dennis and Renita Joy (Eagleman) Potts, and was raised in Hobbema, Alberta. He began his life with his beloved wife Lisa Ermineskin in 1987, and their union was blessed with five children and an adopted son. Donovan worked as a sanitation technician in recycling for several years. The family lived in Hobbema until 2006, when they moved to Rocky Boy, relocating once again in 2011 to Havre. Donovan was a very social man, having given himself the nickname "007," who loved visiting family and friends, playing keno, and teasing his sons-in-law, nieces and nephews mercilessly. He loved to sing, especially karaoke, write lyrics for songs, and he was quite the jokester, having been blessed with a phenomenal sense of humor. Despite his affinity for social situations, he also loved being at home, playing with his grandchildren, and playing the "resident chef" of the family.

Donovan was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Potts, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Ermineskin of Havre; his adopted son, Joe Charland of Cold Lake, Alberta; his children, Shelton (Renee' Omeasoo) Potts of Maskwacis, Alberta, Elthia (Anthony Enemy Hunter) Potts of Havre, Trey (Kellie Rowan) Potts of Maskwacis, Jaslynne (Fred Bacon) Potts of Havre, and Shaleigh Potts of Havre; his grandchildren, Myrna Saddleback, Jade Potts, Aiden Potts, Judah Potts, Kymani Potts, Anthony Potts, Jr., and Kyle Potts; his great-granddaughter, Peggy Saddleback; his mother, Renita Joy Potts of Rocky Boy; his siblings, Todd (Maxine) Bull, John (Jolene Saddleback) Potts, Byron (Shawna) Potts, and Paula (Justin Eagle) Potts, all of Maskwacis, Alberta, Waylon Potts, Florencine (Josh Johnson) Potts, and Wyatt (Raeanne Omeasoo) Potts, all of Rocky Boy; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Missing You everyday all them bear hugs you shared. Our babies are so much like you, the movements you did, the words you would speak, the look on their faces remind me of you so much and the family in RB, I see you so much in all their faces that makes me love them more each day. I am grieving but our children our the one that are hurting even more I don't know what to say. The only thing I can do is be there to listen, hold them, love them and share the memories. Until next time. Rest In Peace.
