State C Update: Box Elder marches on

Once again, the Box Elder Bears didn't get the true test they were thinking they were going to get. Playing in their first state tournament game in 24 years, the top-ranked Bears cruised past Drummond in the opening round of the Class C state tourney Thursday at the Butte Civic Center.

Box Elder won 88-60 and had five players score in double figures. Randall Gardipee led the way with 21 points. The Bears advanced to tonight's semifinal game where they'll face Eastern C champion Fairview at 6:30 p.m.
