MSU-N's Miller touted as the Frontier Player of the Week

Three Frontier teams remain in NAIA Football Poll

The Montana State University-Northern Lights have their first Frontier Conference Player of the Week honor. Northern senior guard Alfie Miller was named Frontier Player of the Week on Monday.

Miller, a 6-0 guard from Seattle, Wash., scored a game-high 24 points to help the No. 24 Lights beat NCAA DII rival Montana State-Billings 71-50 last Friday night in Havre. Miller hit four 3-pointers in the game and was also a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw-line as the Lights remained unbeaten.

The Frontier Women's Player of the Week went to UGF's Erin Legal for the second straight week. Northern junior Taylor Cummings was also nominated. Westminster's Myra Ramirez was named Frontier Volleyball Player of the Week.

On the Frontier football front, Carroll College remained No. 5 in this week's NAIA Coaches Poll. The Saints beat then No. 20 Southern Oregon last Saturday. The Raiders dropped to No. 25 in the poll, while Rocky Mountain College moved up one spot to No. 8. The Bears travel to Carroll this Saturday.

Eastern Oregon's Chris McGinnis-Parker was named Frontier Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 219 yards in last Saturday's win over Dickinson State. Carroll safety Matt Upham was named Defensive Player of the Week after picking off two passes against SOU, while EOU's Jace Billingsley was named Special Teams Player of the Week as he returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown last Saturday. Northern's Zach McKinley was nominated for the offensive award this week.
