Womanless beauty pageant raises money for Relay for Life

The Life Is Sweet, Sweet Home Relay for Life team, held its Second Annual Womanless Beauty Pageant Saturday.

Twelve contestants competed, and the event was once again a crowd pleaser.

Organizers extended a very special thank-you to these men who agreed to help raise money for a worthy cause, as they found out it takes a lot of work to be a woman. Thanks to the efforts of these 12 men more than $3,500 was raised for Relay for Life.

The results:

2013 Womanless Beauty Pageant Queen — Danny Lenhardt, who raised more than $1,000; first runner up, Matt Langford; second runner-up, Howard Miller; third runner up, Kelcey Diemert; and Ugliest Woman, Scott DePriest. The contestants were awarded based on the amount of donations they collected for Relay for Life. The ugliest woman collected the least.

The Oldies But Goodies team, Chinook Senior Citizens Center, served a spaghetti dinner before the pageant. Shore's Floral provided flowers to the finalists. Tim Whitney volunteered his time to host the pageant, and Adam Murphy of Black Magic provided music for the evening. The Chinook Senior Citizen's Band performed following the pageant.
