Havre native chosen as contestant on 'The Bachelorette'

Havre native Bryden Vukasin, who now lives in Missoula, is a contestant for “The Bachelorette,” Season 9, which is running Mondays on ABC.

The first episode aired May 27, the second June 3, and the third Monday. The fourth episode is scheduled for June 17.

“The Bachelorette” is a reality television show in which a bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock this season, searches for love.

Twenty-five men begin the show, Vukasin one of them, each vying for the bachelorette’s attention. Hartsock awards roses to the men throughout various activities and dates, and also has the power to send them home during “rose ceremonies,” held at the end of each show.

Episode 1 introduces the men, and Hartsock dismissed six men right off the bat.

The remaining men star in a rap video with Soulja Boy in Episode 2, and Vukasin was chosen for one of two one-on-one dates.

Hartsock and Vukasin drove around California, picnicked in an orange grove and spent the evening in a hot tub. Two more men were then cut, but Vukasin was safe from elimination.

In Episode 3, the 16 men join in a game of dodgeball. Following the dodgeball match, Vukasin and four other men were invited to join Hartsock on a Wild West set where they dressed up and learned some stunts from a Hollywood stunt coordinator. Vukasin was safe during the rose ceremony, where three additional men were sent home.

Vukasin likely survives the next cuts because show spoilers say he excuses himself from the show during Episode 5.

Vukasin was unavailable for interview because he is under contract and cannot speak with the press until the end of the season.
