HHS Athletes of the Year named

Havre High School held its annual spring sports awards night on Thursday, where many different preps were honored.

Havre High announced its 2012-13 athletes of the year, as voted on by the school's head coaches.

The Female Athlete of the Year was given to senior Katie Christianson. She participated in cross country and track and field this season, as shined in both.

The Male Athlete of the year was given to senior Thurman Holdsclaw. Holdsclaw was a Class A All-State football player, a Central A All-Conference basketball player, and a standout in the pole vault and triple jump for the Havre High track team.

Both Holdsclaw and Christianson received a $200 scholarship to the college of their choosing.

All of Havre's three-sport athletes were also honored Thursday night. This past school year, HHS had 45 kids participate in three activities.

The Havre High tennis teams presented their awards Thursday night as well. For the girls, seniors Lainey Chagnon and Jennifer Cichosz were named Most Valuable Player, junior Brandy Lambourne was named Most Outstanding, junior Shannon Herring was named Most Inspirational and sophomore Tatiana Ralph was named Most Improved.

For the boys, seniors Nick Rhines, J.J. Hovet and Jacob Holden were named Most Valuable Player, freshman Jeff Miller was named Most Outstanding, sophomore Jamie Lieberg was named Most Inspirational and sophomore Noah Landgraf was named Most Improved.
