Havre track teams look strong in Livingston
The divisional track meet means the last opportunity to push kids into the Class A state meet, and the Havre High track and field teams had a good number of kids step up.
Competing in Livingston Friday and Saturday at the Central A divisional meet, the Blue Ponies were well-represented. And though neither team earned a team title, a lot of individual athletes have a lot to be proud of, with just the state meet remaining this season.
Belgrade has the numbers that make it very hard to contend with in the Class A ranks, and the Panthers made that very clear over the weekend as they swept the boys’ and girls team titles. The boys earned 207 points, and the girls earned 215. The Lewistown boys finished in a distant second with 115, and Livingston was third with 101. The Ponies were fourth with 83, and Browning was fifth with 15. In the girls’ field, Lewistown finished second with 129, while the Ponies earned a third-place finish with 92.
