Girls B-C tennis teams to invade Havre this weekend

Once again, the Bill Vaughey Memorial Tennis Courts in Havre will be the site of some intense tennis action.

Friday and Saturday, Havre will host the Northern B-C Girls Divisional Tennis Tourmament, with coveted berths in next week's B-C state tourney on the line.

The Northern B-C features defending champion Chinook, as well as Chester/J-I, Fort Benton and Big Sandy. The Sugarbeeters are the favorite to repeat as divisional champions, as they are strong in both singles and doubles. But individuals from C/J-I and Fort Benton will also stand out as well.

But Chinook will be the deepest team in the field. The Beeters are looking to make another run at a state title this season.

The B-C tourney, which begins Friday morning, will have six singles spots and four doubles spots in the state meet on the line.

The tournament will wrap up Saturday afternoon. The Class B-C state tournament will run next Thursday through Saturday in Missoula.
