Saturday at 7:30 p. m., a motorcycle accident occurred between Joplin and Inverness on U. S. Highway 2 that put a 40-year-old Joplin man, Cory Duane Fraser, in the hospital and resulted in the death of his son Dawson David Fraser, who turned 8 years old less than three weeks ago.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol report, both riders were wearing helmets as the motorcycle “struck a rock embankment at the base of a railroad signal. ”
The report then says that the vehicle went airborne and landed on its front wheel before rolling and throwing both occupants from the vehicle.
Both of the victims suffered internal injuries.
The boy was declared dead at the scene and Cory Fraser was taken to Liberty County Medical Center in Chester.
Since then Cory Fraser has been transferred to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, where he is reported in stable condition.
