This year, it will be the No. 1 Big Sandy Pioneers (13-4) and the No. 2 Chinook Sugarbeeters (13-7) representing the 9C at the Northern C tournament in Great Falls. The divisional tournament will run today through Friday at the Four Seasons Arena, with a game on Saturday if necessary.

Bischoff has participated in a multitude of sports, both with and without a Blue Pony uniform. She has been on the basketball team since her freshman year, and even got limited minutes on varsity last season. She has ran for the HHS cross country team for the last three years, as well as participated in softball her freshman year and track and field as a sophomore.

Three Hi-Line teams will attempt to navigate the Northern C starting Thursday afternoon at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls. And for all three, it won’t be easy.

Monday night at the Havre High gymnasium, Chinook earned the 9C’s second berth into the divisional tournament by fending off the red-hot North Star Knights 57-41. The win officially gave Chinook the second-place trophy. The Beeters lost a heartbreaker to Box Elder in Saturday night’s championship game.

But after the Beeters grabbed the No. 2 spot on Saturday with a loss in the championship game, the Beeters held onto the second place finish with a 57-42 win over the Knights on Monday. The Knights defeated the Box Elder Bears on Saturday to reach the challenge game.

C/J-I faced off against rival Valier Saturday night in the 10C championship game, and though it was a struggle at times, the Hawks prevailed 50-41 and will now move on to the Northern C Divisonal later this week in Great Falls.

In round one, Glasgow defeated the Wildcats 53-45, and in the consolation bracket Wolf Point defeated the Wildcats 80-50. Facing Glasgow, Lawrence led Harlem with 15 points, while Skylar Speak Thunder added 14. And facing Glasgow, Speakthunder led the way with 17 points, while Bud Buck added 10.

Saturday night at the Havre High gymnasium, the Box Elder Bears and defending 9C champion Chinook Sugarbeeters faced off for the 9C title. And in a very tight game almost start to finish, it was the Bears knocking off the Beeters 47-42.

The Chinook Sugarbeeters found that out first hand, as they fell to the Big Sandy Pioneers in the 9C championship game on Saturday night at the Havre High gymnasium. Both teams were playing well coming into the championship, but it was the Pioneers who had the dominating performance and grabbed the 63-44 win and the 9C title.

Tonight at the Havre High gymnasium, there will be a challenge game in 9C boys and girls action. And with both games housing the Chinook Sugarbeeters and North Star Knights, Hi-Line fans should be in full force. At 6 p.m. the currently third-place Knights will take on the second-place Sugarbeeters in girls action, and at 7:30 p.m., the currently third-place Knights will take on the No. 2 Sugarbeeters in boys action.

Prior to the start of the 2012 District 9C boys basketball tournament, the North Star Knights might have had some doubters, given where the Knights ended up in the final regular season standings.

And that’s exactly the kind of roll the North Star girls basketball team is on right now. On Saturday afternoon, the Knights continued that march with a scintillating 53-52 win over the Big Sandy Pioneers in the District 9C girls consolation game at the Havre High gymnasium.

Saturday night the Havre Blue Pony girls basketball team played their final regular season game against the Browning Indians in a game for first place in the Central A Division at the Havre Central Gym. The Pony girls beat the Indians 45-44.

On Friday, the Central A Blue Ponies played their final regular season, as well as final conference game of the season. And playing the No. 1 Browning Indians in Browning, the Ponies struggled. The Indians defeated the Ponies 85-56, giving the Ponies a 4-4 conference record heading into the Central A tournament and locked in as the No. 3 seed.

Chinook’s Ben Stroh pinned Billings West’s Jake Leinwand to win the 189 pound gold medal, while teammate Jorrell Jones edged Laurel’s Austin Boucher 4-3 to capture the 215-pound title Saturday night in Great Falls.

Box Elder is still playing in the 9C boys basketball tournament thanks to a dominating 73-49 over HLP Friday night in Havre. Randall Gardipee scored 19 for the Bears who will play North Star in Saturday's consolation game at 2:30 pm.

The Rocky Mountain Battlin' Bears were responsible for the MSU-Northern women's basketball team's worst loss of the season. On Friday night in Havre, Northern returned the favor by pounding the Bears 73-51. The win moved MSU-N into a third-place tie in the Frontier Standings at 6-5.

The North Star Knights advanced to the District 9C boys consolation game with 71-47 win over Turner Friday night at the HHS gymnasium. The boys consolation game is set for 2 pm Saturday.
