Quite awhile ago I was told by a brilliant scholar, “When you have a disagreeable problem, don't even come to the table unless you have a solution.”
Well, here is a win-win solution for everyone. We all know FWP makes a lot of money because the people in this state like to hunt. If FWP can consider, and buy up property at three times its value within a few months time, then evidently their pockets are deep.
Here is what I consider a wonderful solution.
FWP should take its extra cash and put it in the Highway Patrol retirement fund.
This in-house generosity would benefit the Highway Patrol and allow the tax-paying producers a break in not having to cover the retirement from our vehicle registration.
When there's difficulty in a family the family comes together to help. FWP is one agency in government that makes money rather than takes. It's time Fish, Wildlife and Parks begins sharing their wealth like the rest of us are forced to do.
