There was no letdown after Friday night's emotional win by the Montana State University-Northern men's basketball team. Less than 24 hours after throttling Carroll College, the Lights toppled New Hope Christian, 82-66 Saturday night at the MSU-Northern Fieldhouse.
The win improved the Lights, who made 15 3-pointers against the Deacons, to 11-2 overall with just two more games left in the month of December. Northern ran off a 15-3 run in the first half and led 38-27 at the break. The Lights then pulled away by making four three's on four straight trips down the floor midaway through the second.
Devin Jackson scored a game-high 18 points and he and Alfie Miller each made three tiples. Miller added 15 points, while Corbin Pearson and Jesse Vaughan each scored 12.
The Lights won't be back at home until they re-start Frontier Conference play Jan. 3 against Dickinson State.
