  • Judge rules campaign disclosure law constitutional

    MATT GOURAS Associated Press|Updated Sep 17, 2013

HELENA (AP) — A federal judge has ruled Montana's requirement that political committees disclose their campaign spending is constitutional. U.S. District Judge Dana Christensen sided with the state Tuesday in a new decision. He wrote that the public's right to know who is financing political campaigns vastly outweighs the minimal burden imposed on committees required to report the information. The case stems from a lawsuit filed last year by the National Association for Gun Rights. The Virginia organization argued it w...

  • Praise for Northern Montana Hospital staff

    Ken and Marlene Hanning|Updated Sep 17, 2013

My husband was recently a patient at Northern Montana Hospital. Aug. 12 we entered the ER with him in acute distress, fearing the worst. The efficient, well-trained staff took over. We experienced relief when we heard it wasn't cardiac related, but he needed to be admitted so a diagnosis could be achieved. The nursing staff of the fifth floor was exceptional, just like the ER. The diagnosis resulted in a surgery performed by Dr. Damian Ymzon. We were very impressed with this competent and fine surgeon. My husband has made a...
