    Chris Peterson|Updated Sep 5, 2014

For the third year in a row, Whitefish proved to be too much for the Havre High football team to handle. Friday night, the Chinook Sugarbeeters opened their season with an impressive non-conference win over the Fort Benton Longhorns. The Beeters defeated the Longhorns by scores of 25-10, 21-25, 22-25, 25-17 and 15-9. It was a gutsy performance from the Beeters, who rallied from a 2-1...

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Bohl-ball is now the official brand of Wyoming football. Shaun Wick rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown, D.J. May added 96 yards and a score and the Cowboys defense held Montana to 253 yards total offense. Wyoming (1-0) has beaten Montana, a Football Championship Subdivision school, in all 14 of their matchups. Of the 3...

The Montana State University-Northern volleyball team wanted some stern challenges in the nonconference portion of the 2014 season. So far, mission accomplished. This past weekend, the Skylights took on four nationally-ranked NAIA opponents at the Bellevue College Tournament in Bellevue, Nebraska. And though MSU-N didn't come away with any wins on the weekend, the Skylights would be hard-pressed to find a more loaded tournament to play in. "It was everything we expected it to...

It all started in 2000, when Havre and Whitefish, two traditional powers in Montana Class A football, began the BNSF Railway series and despite the fact that manufactured rivalries almost never materialize, it was an immediate success. Of course, the series was help...
