Thursday night’s storm caused power outages along the Hi-Line. The sudden storm struck the area at about 10 p.m., and heavy winds caused damage to electrical systems in Havre, Box Elder and Big Sandy said NorthWestern Energy spokesman Butch Larcombe. West Nile virus is continuing to spread through Montana, with people warned to be cautious especially now that nine cases have been confirmed in horses, including in Blaine County. HELENA — Montana is on track to recover the jobs lost during the recession later this year, but low productivity and an aging workforce could threaten future economic growth, state officials said Friday. HELENA (AP) — The Milk River Ranch property purchased by the state in December has a new name and interim management rules that allow hunting and hiking, but no camping , fossil collecting or commercial use. The 2,992-acre property purchased by the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks for $4.7 million along with about 6,000 acres of adjacent school trust land is now called the Lost River Wildlife Management Area. The Cub Scouts of the Hi-Line would like to thank the Fresno Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited for their first Annual Scout Fishing Day. A total of seven boats and 15 members of the Fresno Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited took Cub Scouts and their siblings out on Fresno Reservoir for two hours of fun on the waves. Marvin D. Katka Jr., 60, of Havre, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at his residence.
