    For 20 years, Travis Abdullah has spent one Saturday every spring collecting food for people in need. He is a postal carrier in Havre, and gets a great deal of enjoyment out of helping stock the shelves of the Havre Food Bank by collecting contributions from people throughout the community. People are asked to leave nonperishable food items near their mailboxes for carriers to pick them up, take them to their trucks and see that they get to people in need.   • Underage drinking topic for Town Hall meeting May 19

    A federal agency is paying for a discussion in Havre of a major concern in Montana and Hill County — underage drinking. A Town Hall meeting is set for Monday, May 19, to look at ways to prevent and reduce the rate of underage drinking in this area.     John Kuhr was a nurse for many years at Northern Montana Hospital. For 11 years, he was a traveling nurse, going from one small Montana town to another, wherever there was a need. Some time back, he began to feel problems in his stomach. He lost his appetite and began losing weight. With his medical knowledge, he figured it was a gallbladder problem, and decided he would solve the problem when he had time.   • Amtrak passenger faces pot charges

    Charges say law enforcement found more than two pounds of marijuana, almost two ounces of hashish and more than four pounds of pot-infused chocolate on an Amtrak passenger arrested in Havre. Andrew J. Miller of Marsha, Oregon, born in 1990, pleaded not guilty in state District Court in Havre to felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute and carrying dangerous drugs on a train.     Blue Pony Football Camp Havre High head football coach Jason Christenson is offering three different Blue Pony football camps this summer. The High School Camp, open to grades 9-12 will run June 23-27 at a cost of $55. The Middle School Camp, open to grades 6-8, at a cost of $45, will run June 23-26 and the Lil’ Blue Pony Camp, open to grades 3-5, at a cost of $35, will run June 23-25.     The last two summers have been tough on the Havre North Stars American Legion baseball club. And while the North Stars have had some big wins over that time period, total wins have been hard to come by.
