Saturday's game marks the start of a three-game home stand for the Lights, who won't go on the road again until Oct. 23. And MSU-N head coach Mark Samson says his team is ready to take advantage of the opportunity in front of it. "It's been a good week of practice,...

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Montana State University-Northern volleyball program right now — and with good reason. But each and every time Northern steps on the floor, no matter how much success the team enjoys, the Skylights do so with a heavy heart. But they also do so in honor and memory of a special teammate and an even more inspirational person. This past summer, Skylight volleyball player Shaina Evans was killed in an automobile a... Full story

  • Our View: Planning and zoning committee gets it

    Tristan

Our View: Planning and zoning committee gets it We applaud Havre's Planning and Zoning Committee for continuing to pursue an ordinance requiring city businesses to register with the city. It is especially noteworthy that councilpersons' Janet Trethewey, Pam Hillery and Andrew Brekke understand the importance and need for such an ordinance in spite of the lack of support from Mayor Tim Solomon. We encourage the committee to move forward with the ordinance and abandon the farfetched plan of voluntary registration. What the...

Miracles, it seems, are so very rare these days that I cannot ignore the one I experienced on Sunday. It has completely changed my outlook on life. Her Majesty's application in 2004 was politely turned dow...
