    PHOENIX (AP) — The suspect in a deadly Arizona shooting is being held without bail and has been assigned a lawyer who defended Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Timothy McVeigh.   • Judge sentences Tom DeLay to 3 years in prison

    AUSTIN, Texas — A judge has ordered former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay to serve three years in prison for his role in a scheme to illegally funnel corporate money to Texas candidates in 2002. The sentence comes after a jury in November convicted DeLay on charges of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering.     After a week out of commission, the Havre City Swimming Pool will reopen Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. The pool has been closed since New Year's Eve, when the pool's heater froze during the power blackout.     State police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a car outside of Havre. The young man either walked or ran in front of an oncoming vehicle at about 4 a.m. Saturday on Highway 87 near Havre. The driver told police he swerved but was unable to avoid the pedestrian, who died at the scene. Police have not identified the victim, who is from Havre, or the driver, a 35-year-old man from Washington state.
