  • Valier has been quietly building for Saturday

    Daniel Horton

Valier has quickly grown into one of the top Class C 6-man football programs in the state. The Panthers have been knocking on the door of the state championship for the last three seasons, and are now the deepest into the 6-Man playoffs they have been in school history. But the road to 6-man supremacy has been a unique one. You have to dust off the record books and dive in pretty deep, but Valier used to play Class B 11-Man football. They played in the Class B ranks through the 1960's and 1970's before dropping to Class C...

  • Skylights brimming with confidence

    George Ferguson

The Montana State University-Northern volleyball team just completed the best regular season the program has seen in a decade. But the Skylights aren't interested in hanging their hat on that alone. Northern doesn't want to just be satisfied with great achievements like finishing in a tie for third place in the tough Frontier Conference, or with winning 10 conference matches, or with beating every team in the league at least once. Those are all great milestones, but Northern...
