TUCSON, Ariz. June M. Gersmeyer, 82, died Sunday, May 28, 2000 at a Tucson medical center of natural causes.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre. Interment will be at the Highland Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Great Northern Inn.
Gersmeyer was born June 30, 1917 in Duluth, Minn. to Ira L. and Alice K. Bishop. She was raised in Duluth and graduated with a B.S. from St. Scholastica. Her first job was in Kalispell.
She married Fred W. Gersmeyer on July 21, 1940 in Kalispell. They moved to Havre in 1947. She worked as a medical record librarian at Sacred Heart Hospital. She also worked at Kennedy Deaconess Hospital where she became director of medical records.
Gersmeyer later joined the faculty at Northern Montana College and taught in the department of business. She retired from NMC in June 1974.
Gersmeyer enjoyed the company of her friends in her various bridge clubs and the golf course. She relocated to Davis, Calif. in 1988 after her husband, Fred, died. She moved to Tucson in 1991.
Gersmeyer is survived by her son, Fred H. Gersmeyer of Madison, Wis.; daughter, Jane Gersmeyer of Tucson; sister, Jane Bishop of Tucson; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
