The summer is rapidly approaching and for many people, that means vacations. But where to go and what to see? Many people only have a few days or a week to get in their break and its hard enjoy that time off when you have to travel a long ways. So what to do and still enjoy those few days? Well, this writer would like to recommend a couple of days in Bigfork at the Playhouse.
The Bigfork Summer Playhouse is quite possibly one of the best sources of entertainment for the whole family in the entire state of Montana and has been for decades. I personally have been attending plays there since I was two years old, admittedly, I don't remember much about those first few years of shows, but I do have countless fond memories of summer evenings spent in the playhouse, watching and listening as the cast took us away for a two brief hours of excitement and adventure. As of yet, I have never seen a show that I would not have gone back and watched a second time, and on many occasions, I have done just that.
Thing that I enjoy the most about the Bigfork Summer Theatre is that unlike so many things in today's entertainment, it can be enjoyed by the whole family. All of the productions that are on for this year are suited for children and adults, although it is not recommended that you take very small children, as they tend to cry in all the wrong places.
The shows that are on for this summer are: Fiddler on the Roof, Star Spangled Girl, Mame, George M., Paint Your Wagon. Out of all of these I would have to recommend Fiddler on the Roof and George M. If you are interested and want more info, call the Playhouse at (406) 837-4886. I hope that sometime you will give this a try and see a show or two, it is great fun and takes up little of your time.
