The Big Sandy Pioneers dominated the pole vault event at their own track meet on Wednesday.
Mace Mangold on the boys' side and Jenny Silvan on the girls' side both crushed former meet records in the event and set new marks.
Mangold placed first at 12-6 and Silvan set the girls' mark at 9-0.
Both the boys and girls won team titles. The boys finished the day with 138 points, while the girls tallied 198.
Mangold also placed first in the high jump (5-8), and javelin (154-5).
Pioneer Lance Nelson won the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.71.
Ross Runnion of Big Sandy placed first in the 400 and 800 meters.
Blue Sky placed second at the meet with 132 points, edging J-I, who finished third with 130 points.
Jeromy O'Neil and Mike Hutchinson paced the Eagles with first-place finishes in the 100 meters (12.08), 1,600 (5:07.43), and 3,200 (12:00.88).
Murray Warhank of Blue Sky won the discus with a toss of 115-8.
JnI's Curtis May won the 110 hurdles, clocking in at 18.95. Jeremy May won the 200 with a time of 26.91. He also placed first in the long jump, leaping 17-3 1/2.
Ivan Van Dessel won the triple jump with a leap of 35-1/2.
The Rams also won both relays.
The Big Sandy girls placed first in 12 different events at the meet, proving their team depth and dominance.
Kristi Upham placed first in the 100 (13.96), 200 (30.42), and high jump (4-10).
Silvan, including setting the new mark in the pole vault, won the 100 hurdles (17.77) and 300 hurdles (51.72).
Lindsey Danreuther won the 400 meters with a time of 66.63.
Sheena Darlington and Tess Ritter did well in the distance events, with Darlington crossing the finish line first in the 1,600 with a time of 6:18.27.
Ritter won the 3,200 with a time of 15:15.00.
The lady Pioneers also won both relays.
Carlye Reddig of Blue Sky placed first in both the long and triple jump. Reddig jumped 14-11 in the long jump and 31-2 in the triple.
The Eagles finished second with 110 points.
J-I's Angela Peek won the discus with a toss of 102-8.
