Good show by Havres academic challenge team

By HSN Staff

Congratulations are definitely due to the Havre High students and their coaches who have been victorious in the school's first competition in the Montana Academic Challenge.

Years of trying to get into the statewide competition have finally paid off, giving Havre High even more recognition of its always high academic achievement.

The dedication of the students and their coaches is worth some attention, appreciation, and applause. They have been spending at least one of their lunches every week since Christmas break preparing for the event. They were doing this along with their standard schoolwork and other school related or personal activities.

It was a long and difficult trip, but the trophy designating them champions of the state on display at the high school shows it was worth it.

That trophy joins the others the school has accumulated, proving the abilities of Havre's students and the teachers and staff of the schools in many areas. Havre has shown its strength over the years in countless events and activities, such as athletics, music, speech and drama, DECA, foreign language clubs and journalism, just to name a few.

Winning this statewide competition in the first year once again shows the time, effort, and ability our students are willing to put in. Any opportunity to prove and improve themselves is taken by the horns, and prove themselves they do.

Our congratulations and appreciation to the victorious Havre High School Academic Challenge Team. Hats off to you all!
