Turner Tornadoes ready for District 9C track meet

The Turner high school track team is gearing up for the District 9C track meet to be held at the Havre Middle School track on Thursday.

Turner's best shot hangs on the legs of freshman Robert Van Voast. He will be competing in the 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters for the Tornadoes.

The team will also attack with Dena Hedegaard (javelin, discus, shot put) and Nadine Schlueter (long jump, javelin).

Melissa Grabofsky will compete in the 800 meters, 1,600 meters, javelin, and shot put). She did well at the Nashua Invitational, putting up some points for the Tornadoes in the races.

Andrew Jones is strong in the long jump, triple jump, 400 and 800 meters, while Mandy Baldik will compete in the 800 meters, 1,600 meters, and javelin.

The field events are slated to begin at 10 a.m. and the running events at 10:30 a.m.
