They've got speed, power in the weights, and they can go the distance.
Casey Schmidt placed fourth at the 18th Annual Top 10 track and field meet at Glasgow on Tuesday and paced the Chinook Sugarbeeters at the meet.
Schmidt finished the race in 4:58.5.
Caroline Moores placed sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 13.51.
Moores' stiffest Class B competition in the race will come from Mariah Guilfoyle of Malta and Joy Ho of Baker at the state meet, which will be held with the Class A at Butte, May 26-27.
Guilfoyle won the 100 and 200 meters. Sugarbeeter Jennifer Olson placed sixth in the 200 with a time of 28.59.
The Chinook 1,600-meter relay did well, placing fifth with a time of 4:22.9.
Class B Plentywood placed second in the relay and Malta placed fourth, just edging out the Sugarbeeters.
Katie Hoffman placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 33-9 1/2. LeeAnn Pekovitch of Malta will pose the toughest Class B competition in nearly all the field events.
Chinook will compete at the Havre Middle School on Saturday.
