The MSU-Northern womens golf team will come two meets closer to the end of its Frontier Conference season when it travels to Dillon Sunday and Billings Monday.
The Skylights, coming off a last place finish last week at Butte, look to redeem themselves this weekend.
Shanda Lammerding of Havre, the Skylights No. 1 golfer, has shot an even average 91 during the past three meets.
Brooke Barkus, who opened the season with a career-best 83 at Helena, has shot an average 91.33 filling the Skylights No. 2 position.
Jami Jackson and Ristina Johnston round-out the golf roster shooting an average 105 and 104, respectively.
Putting and chipping have proven to be the biggest obstacles for the Skylights, who are in their second year as a full member of the Frontier Conference.
Western Montana College, who hosts the tournament Sunday, has been playing the Skylights closely in team scores this season. The Beaverhead Golf Course is a nine-hole course that resembles Beaver Creek in Havre.
Rocky Mountain College, who will host the tournament at the Peter Yegen Golf Course in Billings, has finished in the No. 2 spot behind Lewis-Clark State during the course of this fall.
In addition to those teams, Carroll College and Montana Tech will play at the two conference tournaments.
Doug Sheppard, the golf pro at Beaver Creek, is traveling with the team while head coach Jessica Peters, who with her husband, head Skylights basketball coach Ray, adjust to life with their newborn girl.
