FRANKLIN BUCK PEREZ

FORT BELKNAP, Franklin Buck Perez, 17, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 1999, at his residence in Fort Belknap. The cause of death is under investigation by the tribal police.

Wake services started today at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Ft. Belknap with Rosary being held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Harlem High School Gymnasium with burial in the Hi-Way Church Cemetery.

Perez was born Sept. 11, 1981, at Havre, to Randy and Margarett (Campbell) Perez. His Indian name was Hoksina Incago, meaning Growing Boy. He was raised and educated at Fort Belknap and was a senior at Harlem High School at the time of his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball, cross country and video games.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvina Buck Perez, Julian Perez and Michael Bud Campbell.

Survivors include his mother, Margarett Campbell of Poplar; his father, Randy Perez of Ft. Belknap; sisters, Vernelle Chase, Reyna Perez and Jennifer Perez all of Ft. Belknap; and his grandmother, Betty Campbell of Hays.
