It looks like a large silver marshmallow as it stood alone in the St. Jude Central Gym Thursday.
More than 92 kids and 23 adults crawled through the short tunnel that led inside to the faint glow of an illuminated cylinder that projected white dots on the ceiling above.
As eyes adjust the dots look brighter and you feel as though youre standing on the highest of mountains looking out on the endless vastness of space.
This is the Starlab Planetarium. A traveling exhibit that spent Thursday entertaining children and adults alike at the gym.
Starlab is owned by the Museum of the Rockies and came to Havre thanks to the efforts of the Hill County Extension Service and H.E.L.P.
The exhibit is an entertaining and educational tool that gave visitors an exact replica of the night sky from the northern hemisphere.
Orions Belt, the Big Dipper, the North Star, Cannes Major and Minor, and many other formations, were viewed by the visitors. Each observation was described and explanations given by one of the staff supervising the lab.
