VERA MORIN BUCKMAN

HAYS Vera Joan Morin Buckman, 64, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at her residence.

A Memorial Wake will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Pauls Mission Recreation Center. Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Pauls Catholic Church with internment in the Mission Cemetery.

Buckman was born June 4, 1935, to Robert Morin Sr. and Margaret (Doney) Morin in Fort Belknap. She attended St. Pauls Mission schools and graduated from Mission High School. She attended the College of Great Falls graduating with an elementary teaching degree.

She married Martin Buckman, Jr. They were later divorced.

She enjoyed writing poems and songs. She attended St. Pauls Mission and erected the Mission Canyon Virgin Mary Statue.

Buckman was preceded in death by her father and brothers.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret Morin of Hays; lifelong friend, Earl Swan of Hays; daughters, Jill Barrows of Polson, Ruby Galvan of Mexico City, and Tylynn of Hays; a son, Glen Johnny Buckman of Polson; sisters, Bernice Young, Cecile Perkins and Karen Haas; brothers, Winston, Harley, Lowell, Kevin and Andrew Morin; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
