Virginia Ferree

CHINOOK Virginia Ferree, 85, died at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre on Thursday, June 3, 1999, due to natural causes.

Memorial services were held Monday morning in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and burial of the cremated remains was in the Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1913, in Chinook to Albert and Nellie (Light) Dehl. She attended schools in Chinook and graduated from Chinook High School in 1933.

She married Buel E. Ferree on Nov. 25, 1933, in Malta. The couple moved to Landusky and then to south of Chinook where they began ranching until moving to Chinook in 1948.

She was a member of FOE No. 689, Lutheran Auxiliary and the Chinook Senior Citizen Center.

She enjoyed playing pinochle, gardening and her yard work. Her yard was voted the yard of the week last summer. She loved arts and crafts and did her own sewing and canning for many years.

She is survived by a son, Gary Ferree of Wolf Creek; a daughter, Joyce Kaul of Chinook; a brother, Landis Dehl of Florida; two sisters, Ida Dobbs of Great Falls and Lucille Thomson of Joplin; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
