ROSEANN SADDLER

ROCKY BOY Roseann Saddler, 92, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at her residence of natural causes.

Wake services will start 1 p.m. Sunday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church at Rocky Boy. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church Cemetery.

Saddler was born April 3, 1907, at Whitewater to Gregory and Mary Alphosine (Allery) Briere. She attended a mission boarding school near Whitewater.

She married William Saddler when she was 16. The couple resided in Rocky Boy. TheY also lived in Helena where she worked at the Helena Nursery for several years.

Saddler was a member of the Catholic Church. She was a Chippewa Medicine Woman and had a strong belief of the Catholic and Native American traditional beliefs. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, three sisters, a brother, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Survivors include five daughters, Christine Han of Great Falls, Marie Friede and Delores Alexander of Box Elder and Emma Saddler and Madeline Oats of Rocky Boy; a son, Joseph Saddler of Bellingham, Wash.; an adopted sister, Agnes Gopher of Rocky Boy; a brother, William (Bill) Briere of Idaho; 25 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
