Big Sandy, KG dominate 9-C

The Big Sandy Pioneers sit atop the Class 9-C girls basketball standings.

The Lady Pioneers, 5-0 overall, have had four players in double figures during the past two games.

In four-of-five games, the Lady Pioneers have scored more than 70 team points.

Sasha Ritter had a season-high 24-point game against non-conference Stanford in the opening weekend of play.

Stanford has given the Lady Pioneers their greatest run, Big Sandy only won by 16 points.

Sophomore Amy Silvan had a game-high 18 points in Big Sandys pummel of non-conference Dodson.

In division play, the Lady Pioneers have downed Blue Sky, 75-42, and J-I, 86-22.

Celeste Darlington and Ritter each tallied 16 points in the win over the Rams.

The KG KouGars, with a 4-0 overall record, are also making a run in the 9-C.

Siefert had a career-high 24 points in the season opening match-up against J-I.

Amy Melby tallied 20 points Saturday against defending state champion Box Elder.

Big Sandy and KG meet in head-to-head competition at Big Sandy Friday, Sept. 1.
