WALTER (DUBE) DUVALL
LANDUSKY Walter W. (Dube) Duvall, 83, died Friday, June 11, 1999, at a Phillips County hospital of natural causes.
Funeral services will be conducted by the family at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Rockies Christian Camp Chapel with burial in the Landusky Cemetery.
Duvall was born March 13, 1916, to Charles W. and Edna L. (Turner) Duvall at Antelope Springs, southwest of Landusky.
On Oct. 20, 1934, he married Sydne G. Threthewey at Chinook. He was employed at various jobs but was always a horse rancher in earlier years. The couple were caretakers of the Little Rockies Christian Camp for the last 30 years.
He was counted in the ranks of cowboys known as Filly Chasers. He rounded up and broke wild horses. He published a book in 1992 called Memories of a Filly Chaser. He enjoyed carving with Diamond Willows.
Survivors include his wife, Sydne of Landusky; a son, Sam W. Duvall of Wolf Point; daughters, Betty D. Campbell of Lodge Pole, Edna G. Smith and Margaret (Peggy) Sorenson of Wolf Point, Helen D. Arthur of Great Falls, Beulah M. Oelke of Summer, Wash., Wanda L. Doney of Puyallup, Wash., Della R.D. McConnell of Missoula and Lorna J. Moreno of Havre; a sister-in-law, Peg Duvall; 35 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
