ANNA DOERKSEN MADSEN obituary

Anna Doerksen Madsen, 91, died the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, of natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center.

Her funeral service will be 2 p. m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home wi th Pastor Arden Barden officiating. Burial will fo l l ow a t t h e Hi g h l a n d Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Anna’s honor may be made to the NMCC Chapel Fund, C/O NMH, P.O. Box 1231, Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Anna was born Nov. 12, 1917, at home at Corall Coulee in Blaine County. She was one of fourteen children born to Gerhard and Anna (Doerksen) Friesen Anna married Theodore Madsen on July 8, 1937. They raised six children in Havre. She was a well-known cook around Havre as throughout her life she was a short order and pastry cook at several establishments in Havre. Anna especially enjoyed flower gardening and could make anything grow. She also enjoyed crocheting and doing bead work. She was a member of the N o r t h H a v r e H o m e Demons t rat ion Club and enjoyed visiting with the other members who lived in the “North Country” where she was born and later spent a large part of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, nine brothers and two sisters. Anna is survived by her children: Milton of Havre, Frank (Lois) of Helena, Bill (Carol) of Gi l let te, Wyo. , Anna Mae (Clarence) Gomke of Great Falls, Frances (Jim) Buell of Gildford, and Judy (Bob) Vosen of Havre; two sisters, and 21 grandchildren.
