Baked goods for summer camp

Goodies here and treats there. Whether full or trying to watch their weight through the holiday season, people still cannot resist the tempting talents of one of Havre's brightest salesmen, Sunnyside Intermediate School fifth-grader Corey Knowlton. Knowlton, 10 years old, recently claimed the title of top popcorn sales when the local Boy Scouts totaled up his orders amounting to more than $5,000. And no one was safe from his charms on Wednesday, Nov. 26, as he and fellow First Lutheran Church Youth Group member Katie Christianson, 14, toured businesses in town presenting their wares. "I made those myself," Knowlton said as he pointed to a pile of cellophane wrapped, chocolate dipped pretzels brightly tied with holiday ribbon. The pair were among the kids raising money for the First Lutheran Church Youth Group's July 2009 trip to the Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp. The youth group will also be selling baked goods at Holiday Village Mall the morning of Dec. 13. Folks who would like to help can drop off donations at the First Lutheran Church office or mail them to First Lutheran Church, 303 6th Ave., Havre, MT 59501. Please specify that the donation go for the Bible Camp.
