Residents have so far responded in support of an organization facing extinction.
Hi-Line Concert Association treasurer Pam Hillery this week said the group is more than halfway to reaching its ticket-sales goal of $14,000.
The group has sold 225 season tickets, raising $7,800, Hillery said.
“That's a really good start,” she said in a voice message. “At halfway in our campaign, we're doing well.
“We still need that extra $7,000,” Hillery added.
She and other association organizers have said that the group needs to raise the lion's share of the $14,000 it needs by month's end.
The association needs the money to pay for next year's concert schedule. Group members have said that the association will go under unless it raises the needed cash.
The group has faced diminished support in recent years. Last year, organizers had sold only 175 tickets by June.
The association has been providing entertainment to the Hi-Line for 67 years.
On tap for next season is Russian pianist Alexandre Moutouzkine, The Gateway Trio - a mix of vocals, guitar, bass and banjo, the harp and vocal pair of Bronn and Katherine Journey, and the ShaeLaurel family band.
Season tickets start at $15 for students. Adults pay $40 for four concerts, and families pay $100. The tickets will got up in price - a $5 increase for students and adults, and a $15 increase for families - after May 31, if enough have been sold to ensure a new season.
