RENO, Nev. - Margaret "Peggy" Shearer, 58, died of natural causes Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at her home in Reno.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. March 18 in Havre.
Margaret was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Conrad to Herbert and Isabel Bitz. The family moved from its farm east of Brady to Box Elder a year later. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1964. Margaret attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings and Northern Montana College in Havre to study art and music. She also was a member of the Big Sandy O.E.S.
Margaret made her home in Billings most of her adult life and raised her daughter. She was employed as a secretary and she also taught piano.
Margaret loved music, ceramics and art. She enjoyed gardening and her numerous pets - cats, dogs and injured pet fox, Bushie.
Margaret and Dean Shearer were married in Red Lodge on Oct. 13, 1990. They worked in several states in the resaurant business and retired in Reno.
Survivors include her husband, Dean; daughter, Dawn Marie of Pueblo, Colo.; brother, Donald (Caroline) Bitz; nephew, Matthew Bitz; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
