"Should bowlers call fouls on themselves when they foul and it somehow goes unnoticed? Of course they should - if they still want to look in mirrors!"
It's just a rumor for now! And yes, I heard it, who hasn't? It seems as though we go through this every year.
There will be no more Jackpot bowling on Saturday nights this season. The year is winding down and interest is slowing. When the weather starts to get nice, I think most of you will agree, it's time to be outside.
The Women's Association meeting was held last night to once again discuss merging with the men. In a unanimous decision, it was decided not to consider merging at this time. Election of some officers and all directors was held with all of the present retaining their positions. The handing out of City Tourney awards and money concluded the meeting. Next year's City Tourney will be held in October.
It is the end of the season, do you know how you qualify for year ending awards? To qualify for any national award given out from your league you must have bowled two-thirds of the season.
Please remember, these are awards that come from national. Your league may give similar awards but with different stipulations. Unless stated in your league rules, awards must be given for both handicap and scratch scores. When both handicap and scratch are given, a bowler may not qualify for both.
A couple of YABA members were missed in the YBC standings last week. I should have checked names, instead of towns, since the two were listed as being from Belgrade. Payton Robertson and Ramsey Drew finished 12th and 13th in the 11 and Under.
YABA will be holding its end of the season awards and banquet Sunday April 17 at 5 p.m. Parents will be notified by phone before then with further details. If you have any questions before that time, contact Chris Drew.
